Cookies Policy

Last updated: August, 27th, 2025.

This Cookies Policy explains how House of Thavy LLC (“House of Thavy”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and online services (the “Site”). It also tells you how you can control these technologies.

By continuing to browse or use our Site, you agree that we can store and access cookies as described in this policy, subject to your choices in our cookie banner and your browser settings.

1) What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember you between pages, and to help us understand how the Site is being used.
We also use related technologies such as pixels, tags, SDKs, and local storage together, we call these “cookies.”

2) Who places cookies?

  • First-party cookies – set by House of Thavy (or our platform provider, Shopify) for our Site.

  • Third-party cookies – set by service providers (for example, analytics and advertising partners) to provide services to us and to you.

Because our store is hosted on Shopify, Shopify also places cookies necessary for store operations (cart, checkout, account login, fraud prevention) and performance. For the most current list of Shopify cookies, see Shopify’s help pages.

3) What types of cookies we use and why

A. Strictly Necessary (Essential)

These cookies are required for the Site to function and cannot be switched off in our systems.
Examples of use:

  • Remembering items in your cart and enabling checkout

  • Securing your session and preventing fraud

  • Load balancing and site performance
Examples: Shopify session and checkout cookies (e.g., cart, checkout, secure_customer_sig).

B. Performance & Analytics

These help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. We use aggregated, pseudonymized reporting.
Examples of use:

  • Counting visits and traffic sources

  • Seeing which pages are most/least popular

  • Diagnosing errors
Examples: Google Analytics 4 cookies and measurement tags.

C. Functional (Preferences)

These enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your preferences.

Examples of use:

  • Saving your size or view preferences

  • Remembering whether you dismissed a banner

D. Advertising & Social Media (Optional on our Site)

These may be set by us and/or our partners to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant ads on other sites, or to measure ad performance. Social media pixels may let you share content and see tailored ads.
Examples: Meta Pixel, Google Ads tags.

We are a small business and we use limited advertising cookies. Where used, we only activate them after you give consent in the banner (and you can change your mind at any time, see Section 6).

4) How long do cookies last?

  • Session cookies expire when you close your browser.

  • Persistent cookies stay on your device for a longer period or until you delete them.
Retention periods vary by cookie and purpose. We try to keep retention proportionate and no longer than necessary.

5) Do we “sell” or “share” personal information?

We do not sell personal information. If we use advertising cookies that constitute “sharing” under California law (cross-context behavioral advertising), you can opt out any time via our cookie preferences tool or submit a "Do Not Sell or Share My Info".

6) Your choices: how to control cookies

You have several options:

  • Cookie banner / preferences – When you first visit, choose your categories. You can revisit and update choices any time via Cookie Preferences.

  • Browser settings – Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. See support pages for:

    1. Chrome help

    2. Safari help

    3. Firefox help

    4. Edge help

  • Analytics & ads controls

Opt-outs are device/browser-specific. If you clear cookies, you may need to opt out again.

7) Global  Control (GPC) & Do Not Track

If your browser sends a Global  Control (GPC) signal, we will treat it as an opt-out of “sale/share” where legally required and technically feasible. Our Site does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals, as there is no common industry standard.

8) California residents (US-only store)

If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the rights to know, delete, correct and to opt out of sale/share. See our Privacy Policy for details and how to submit a request.

9) Visitors from the EEA/UK

If you are visiting from the EEA/UK, we rely on your consent for non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time via Cookie Preferences. Essential cookies are used to provide the service you request (e.g., checkout).

10) Third-party websites

Our Site may link to other websites that have their own cookie policies. We are not responsible for their practices. Please review those policies before providing personal information.

11) Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our practices. If changes are material, we will highlight them on the Site or in the banner. Please check back regularly.
